Roof Leak Repair in Central Oklahoma
Ceiling stains, drips during heavy rain and water in the attic, traced to the real source.
Roof leaks
What usually goes wrong
Water rarely comes in where the stain shows up. It enters at a weak point, often flashing around a chimney, a cracked vent boot, a valley or a skylight, then runs along the decking or rafters before it drips onto the ceiling. Finding the actual entry point is most of the job.
While you wait, put a bucket under the drip and move valuables out of the way. If the ceiling drywall is bulging with water, keep people out of the room; if water is near light fixtures or outlets, turn off that circuit at the breaker only if you can do it safely. If you can reach the attic safely, look for wet insulation or a drip with a flashlight.
Tell the roofer when it leaks: only in heavy rain, only with wind from one direction, or every time. That pattern helps narrow down the cause.
